Kissing A Fool (Richard)
Richard S. Patnaude I
Born September 7, 1951 in a large family of 12 children. I was around 8 years old when my singing career started where I grew up in Winooski Vermont and where I attended St. Francis Xavier School. The Nuns were not sure of what to do with me since I was failing my grades. I was placed in the Glee Club and from there things changed for me. Harmony became a big part of my life.
I sang my first solo singing Ave Maria in Latin during church services. Soon after I was performing in several venues such as rest homes, Hospitals, schools and some private parties.
As a young adult I was part of the Green Mountain Chorus singing barbershop harmony. Also was in several quartets. My favorite quartet was called “Three Flats & A Spare” we won 3rd place competing with 29 other quartets during Nationals competition.
Green Mountain produced a Christmas special that ran for 15 years on our local TV channel. I sang a french song composed in 1847 by Adolphe Charles Adam from a french poem written by Placide Cappeau in1846. He wrote the poem in a stagecoach traveling to Paris. "Minuit, chrétiens" (Midnight, Christians) also known as "Oh Holy Night"
I married my high school sweetheart in 1970 and we have three children plus six Grandchildren, also an additional extended family of seven Great Grandchildren. I live in the Austin Texas metro area and I'm still performing at clubs, hotels, wedding & receptions, restaurants, private parties, family reunions, fund raisers and let’s not forget the residents in the nursing homes.
My style is a diverse range of music such as in Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Melody Gardot, Josh Groban, Diana Krall, Chicago, Rod Stewart, Louis Armstrong, Ray Charles, Bobby Darin and many more.
